That's What She Said Monday

[holding a spray bottle] I'm gonna squirt you.
That's what she said.

And you were afraid it'd be too much.
That's what she said.

[a coke that fell down] It fell down and I couldn't get it up.
That's what she said.

[yelling at my dog not to touch my food]Don't try to lick it.
That's what she said.

Good luck to those college kids who have mid terms this week or soon. I may not post a ton this week, I really do need to study. Happy Monday!

21

Miss the old sound to music? Sick of all the auto tune, and lack of talent in today's artists? Adele is a singer with talent, and a very old school vibe.

21, her second album was just released Feb 22nd. I absolutely love her! Her first album, 19 had one of my favorite songs, Chasing Pavements. Not only are the songs unique, but they are catchy. Her newest album 21, is named after how would she was while recording. These albums just has so much real emotion. I am definitely getting tired of, "lets get drunk and just have random sex" techno songs.

Adele is huge in the Uk, but I am not sure how she is over here. I'm always looking for something different then main stream in the US, and she really stands out. If you haven't heard about her, check out the music video above.

21 is a great album for anyone looking for a collection of emotions on one CD.Some emotions are depressed over a break up, but then finding the courage to quickly pick yourself up."Rumor has it" is a very soulful song about dealing with a break up, and finding someone new. This is one CD I would actually pay money for.

If you have no idea who I am talking about, like I said click on the video, or just google Adele 21. It won't be a waste of your time.

A pictures worth a thousand words

What item doesn't belong in this picture? I find this pretty funny, since I was at a Sports store.

Can't figure it out?

Hm, what is that box in the yellow circle. It looks like a table mate. Why would they be selling tv dinner trays by the weight lifting equipment.

Why I stopped reading Cosmo

A women is wearing a very tight, and provocative outfit. SEX TIPS is written right next to her. Sounds like a issue of porn magazine doesn't it?  This is the cover of almost every issue of Cosmo Mag. I used to read this magazine like it had all the answers to every silly sex tip until I realized, why the hell am I reading this?

For those of you who don't know Cosmo is a magazine with articles towards women. Sex tips, fashion, how to lose weight, all the things women are "obsessed with". I used to read the magazine all the time looking for new tips to improve my sex life, until I realized half the things I read I would never use, or were repeats.

Cosmo is full of the articles of what he's really like, or dating advice. I've found out with experience most of these articles are obvious or just full of fluff, and way to take up space on a page. They even have an article saying what his hugs mean. Come on now, give me something that isn't so obvious. I have so many friends that read these dating articles, when they really should be talking to a good guy friend about guy advice. How can a women tell you how men are? They can't. The best they can do is poll men on questions, but that gets boring.
Women want to be independent and strong, but we are constantly reading articles about men. Why? No article is going to help you be happy because a man doesn't make you happy.

In my personal opinion Cosmo is just a a cheaper one step down from porn magazines women are too afraid to look at. Look at the covers and you tell me if you can tell a big difference.

All three magazines look pretty similar.  All three offer pretty much the same basic elements, people half naked, and random articles. I think cosmo lacks good articles anymore. You'd be surprised the good music articles playboy has.

It amazes me how women over analyze everything. No wonder why I do, I used to read articles about stupid things. Cosmo features an article " what his facebook status means". If the man is a hoochie, the only way to find out is talk to him. People will be who they truly are, and if he happens to be a man whore, there isn't any article out there that will change him.

So Ladies if you wanna know how to get a man, stop reading Cosmo, the $4.99 you spent on it won't help. Want some hot steamy sex tips? Read something online for free. Stop reading the silly advice articles. Be independent, and in that time of discovering yourself you will attract someone.

Spring Fashion

It may be cold and dreary for those lucky ones, but spring is near, and that means spring fashion is hitting the stores. Along with the spring fashion are the fashion shows. Those can be pretty interesting.

Most people want to dress good, and feel good, but some fashion is just beyond me. I like to dress up, but it's very simple colors with a 50's office appeal. I stick to classics. Some of the fashion show collections are a bit out there for me. Let's take a look at some of the trends glamor magazine features online.

This doesn't really seem like a happy spring time outfit to me, but then again I do not go with the trends. The blue wrap on her head really distracts me away from everything.

This outfit seems more reasonable for the everyday person. It looks very laid back, but with a nice dressy look.

This piece is a bit confusing in my opinion, it's a dress meant to look like a trench coat. Reminds me something a streaker would wear. I love trench coats, but as just that, a coat.

This has to be my favorite one. Minus the big sunglasses. I like the simple look to it.

Glamor Magazine did a good job highlighting some clothes real women could actually wear, but some other things were still a little too ugly or weird for my taste. In my opinion a pair of nice jeans, and a comfy t-shirt never go out of style.

Funny Commercials

The superbowl wasn't that long ago, and it made me think of all the funny commercials I've seen.

Have you ever seen a commercial, and thought it was an actual show? I have. I first caught the glimpse of a Geico commercial, the bird in the hand commercial half way through. Mindlessly flipping through channels I really thought this was real.

Here's a clip for those who forget, or haven't seen this commercial.

Antique Roadshow, not the most thrilling show. I really thought they were trying to sell a bird in the hand. Kind of embarrassing, but I did caught it at the last couple seconds.

This next commercial might make the men a little uncomfortable, but I am sure the women will laugh.

I often wondered why so many feminine products, for those of you afraid to say tampons or pads, why were the girls so damn happy? I am no where near happy, and definitely don't wear white pants!

This next commercial has to be my all time favorite. I can't wait until one day when I'm old and crazy like this. I am so going to be that crazy old lady down the road raising hell.

Do you guys have a favorite commercial? Feel free to comment. :]

That's what she said.

It's so little, whats the point?

Postcrossing!

Remember long time ago when you physically sent mail with stamps? Sounds barbaric doesn't it? Having to spend money on stamps, get off the couch, and put envelopes in the postbox. Postcrossing doesn't just have you send real snail mail, but let's you meet people from all over the world!

Postcrossing.com is this sweet site that you can sign up on, and send postcards to random people. Sounds lame right? Nah. It is really fun, and now I enjoy checking the mail.  For 98
cents I can send postcards to China,Finland and other countires across the globe!

On postcrossing.com you are given random addresses and people to send postcards to. It is really that simple. With a few clicks you can send a postcard to someone, and cheer up their day.

Maybe I am an old school , but I love physically touching mail, and sending out letters. I have made  a penpal in the process of finding postcrossing. Her and I are friends on facebook. :] Aha. Gotta love technology helping us send mail the old way.

Here is one postcard I received from Germany.

This is one I received from a journalism in the U.S.

If you enjoy saying hello to new people, and vice versa, you definitely need to check out postcrossing.com.

Laundromat and other fine places

Young children are running around, and screaming. “Mommy, I want a quarter!”  says one child. This is one factor you have to deal with when you go to the Laundromat.

The Laundromat is a magical place, and no matter what time it never fails an out of the control child will be there. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t mind the place so much. I used to love going because it is a time saver until I actually stayed while my clothes were being washed.

The last couple of visited consisted of a child running in between my legs while I was sitting down,  and a mom yelling at her kid every two minutes.  What makes the situation even more interesting is when the mom has a really thick southern accent, and you live in the north.

Going to the Laundromat makes me think of the people you see at walmart. Speaking of Walmart I had a very interesting visit that same day. Before I even walked in the door to Walmart I saw a women throwing up outside of her car door. Right by the main doors. Classy! I was too nicey, and didn’t take a picture of it.

Walmart just screams redneck, and I saw something very hillbilly like. Most people buy truck bed covers, and some people make them out of plywood and hinges. I did take a picture of that!

The world is such an amazing place. So many interesting people to meet. Thank God for Walmart and the Laundromat!

That's What She Said Monday

It usually takes me a while.
That's what she said.

It sprayed  all over my face.
That's what she said.

It burned my eyes.
That's what she said.

Sorry for no posting this past weekend. I had the cold, and figured sleep was better. I  won't let you down this week. :]

Gift Giving

No matter the holiday, I love gift giving. The simple exchange of gifts at my house turns into something much more. The taunting and anticipation grow as the date reaches, but I rarely hold out until the official day.
It can be Christmas or even Valentine’s Day I am up to no good making the gift guessing even harder. It’s not just about getting a good gift in my eyes, it’s about the suspense. As a kid my mum would wrap up gifts in bigger boxes, and put other things in the box to make noise.

After I met my husband that barely celebrated holidays I got him to get crazy into it. This last Christmas we exchanged gifts the day we got them, 2 weeks before Christmas. Gift giving isn’t a peaceful activity, it’s war. Let’s see who can out do the other.
I even caved in and gave him his Valentine’s Day gift early, a Kinect, not without recording him run around the house like a child. That footage will definitely come in handy down
the road.
Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures!
. This past Christmas I came up with an evil plan to wrap my husband’s Call of Duty:Black Ops game in Anti-Virus. The look on his face as priceless. He threw the game down, and really thought it was anti-virus.He should know by now I don't give lame gifts. I did just get him the ultimate gamer present, xbox 360 games, and turtle beach headset.
Ear Force X11 Amplified Stereo Headset with Chat
The joy on people’s face makes gift giving worth it. Watching people get pissed off, and then slowly realize how much of an ass they are always makes me smile.

Shopping on a Budget

Each day new items are shelved, and endless possibilities for shoppers arise. Imagine going into a store with something new every day. These items may not be brand new, but to thrifty shopper this isn’t a problem.

Finding a new pair of jeans can be hard enough, and finding jeans on a budget can be even worse. The Goodwill offers shoppers an opportunity to find jeans at a decent price.

A pair of jeans at a trend store like American Eagle can cost a shopper almost $50. While some stores are expensive, the Goodwill offers jeans and other clothing from $3.49 and up.

To some shoppers the fact that their clothes were previously worn might be a bit uneasily. For others the worn in feeling only adds character to clothing.

Helpful Tips When Thrift Store Shopping:
o    Always try on your clothes.
•It might say a size medium, but it’s used, and might be bigger or smaller.
o    Make sure to fully look over your items.
•Make sure there are no seams coming undone, or stains.
o    Don’t get discouraged.
•New items are brought out every day. Some days will have better selection then others.

The Goodwill and Salvation Army offer shoppers not only a place to shop on a budget, but a place to donate their old clothes. Thrift stores are one way to reduce, reuse, and recycle clothing.

Thrift stores offer many opportunities for people shopping on a budget. With a little ambitious, and patience a shopper can find some great clothing that is just right for them.

An Autotune Nation

In today's music industry computers plan a big role. If it wasn't for computers we wouldn't have such an amazing display of performance this last super bowl. Oh wait it was the opposite. The singer was off, and everyone was surprised some artists don’t sound so good live. Welcome to the world of auto tune.
Who needs real singing talent anymore? Quick computer editing and almost anyone’s voice can sound perfect. If you haven’t checked out the half from the Super Bowl, listen to Fergies amazing voice. I always said she wasn’t that great, people really need to start listening to my opinion.

T.V. channels are crammed with the next big talent, but does real talent exist anymore? When is the last time you went to a concert, and weren’t let down by the singing? I have been to some really good live rock concerts, but even more big time names let me down.

Many people will argue that if an artist jumps around, and the vocals are a little off it's ok. That is like me doing my job, and saying I was too stressed. Their job is to entertain. That's just my opinion. If someone is paying good money, I would expect to see a good performance, and that's including vocally.

With some much auto tuning going on there is even a youtube group dedicated to auto tuning everything. They definitely make a good use of auto tune in a very funny way.

Today's music isn't the same as it used to be in the past. Are there any artists you can't stand because they have used too much computer editing?

Celebrity Look-A-Likes

“Oh my god, you look so familiar! You look like Ke$ha!” Have you ever heard someone say you look like a celebrity? Has it been just because you have blonde curly hair, or the same colored eyes?
I have fallen victim to this terribly vague celebrity look a-alike. I was once compared to Janis Joplin and Kelly Osborne. Once you are compared to someone like Janis Joplin you take it with offense.  Here’s a quick comparison of me and Kelly Osborne. We definitely look different!

I do not see how anyone could compare the two of us. My best bet is we both were into the darker style.

How about if Janis Joplin and I look a like. I really don't think we look anything a like. You be the judge. Here's an older picture of me with long hair. It's the only thing I can figure out why I would look like her.

One of my really good friends is always “complimented” she looks like Ke$ha. I can see how she looks like her a little bit. They both have blonde curly hair, and corky, but that’s it. My friend is no alcohol, and doesn’t look drunk half the time.

Oh yea, they look so a like. Hmmm, not so much. Have you ever had someone swear up and down you looked like a celeb due to one small element about you?
